Zimparks Ranger arrested for Hwange lion poaching!
After a short intense investigation into the horrific killing of three Lions in Hwange, a Ranger, Hali Mabuya was arrested after a tip off from a colleague. Mabuya, 39, approached the colleague asking them to alter the log for the .458 service rifle he had in his possession during the time the three Lions where shot. The lions had been found with their heads and paws cut off. One was a collared lioness.
On Saturday 26th October Mabuya appeared in court and was remanded in custody till the 1st November. Rounds of ammunition in Mabuya's possession matched the bullet heads recoved at the horrific scene. Mabuya was found with at least an extra thirty rounds of ammunition, besides his issued ammunition, for the .458 service rifle.
This arrest could be a breakthrough in a well established sinister Poaching Syndicate.
