Another Attack on Black Rock Rhino Conservation

On Friday night 16th August, Black Rock Rhino Conservation/Harmony 16/17 was attacked, again, by Rhino horn poachers. Two poachers recorded on the farm’s trail cams, one carrying a hunting rifle, were being pursued with dogs but after a single rifle shot was heard the trackers went off the scent towards the gunshot. Other security forces around the area were on stand-by for hours but received no further updates...

A Brutal Pattern of Killings Continues

On the night of the 22nd July three Rhinos were slaughtered on Harmony Farms. Two had been dehorned by the poachers who had brutally hacked their faces off while dehorning them. The third Rhino was left with horns as poachers fled, escaping through a neighbouring farm Makgokolo.

According to invaluable sources, over fifteen more Rhinos are suspected to have been poached since late January on Harmony.

The Arrest of Derek Lewitton

American Derek Lewitton of Black Rock Rhino Conservation was arrested in late December 2023 after an intensive raid was executed by a multi-disciplinary task force led by Major-General Scheepers. The raid led to the discovery of 26 unreported Rhino carcasses.

Seventeen unmarked Rhino horns and sixteen unlicensed firearms were found in a safe on the property. Lewitton was released on bail on the 10th January and will appear in court in September.

Security Collapse and Silence

At the end of June Mr Piet Warren closed the manned gates on parts of the farm, which weakens the already fragile security.

The Anti-Poaching company RHINO FORCE was placed under contract to protect the remaining Rhinos. It’s clear that the Harmony16/17 and Black Rock Rhino Conservation are doing anything but protect their Rhinos.

These Rhinos are being heavily targeted in an ongoing brutal slaughter. The silence is deafening...
